A Day at the Old Pavilion - Inspired by a historic photo I found of Lake Harriet that prompted me to look into the past of the bandshell at Lake Harriet. I found a message someone had written about their memories as a child in the summer of 1920. The pavilion didn't last long, it was unfortunately destroyed by a storm but it was a wonder while it lasted: “The many picnics we had as a family by the lake and the band concerts that climaxed the day. The salt-water taffy, popcorn and balloons, the walk home along the lake shore through the park where it seemed there were always fireflies lighting our way.” – Margaret J. Hall
